I had a lovely one-night stay at the Mortimer Arms while exploring the area. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the staff's warmth made for a welcoming atmosphere. Dining was pleasant with generous portions and tasty food, though the breakfast price felt a bit high. Overall, a great place for a comfortable stay, though the renovations left a slight smell of fresh paint.

I had a mixed experience at this hotel. While the rooms were mostly clean and the dining options were enjoyable, there were significant issues that left me feeling disappointed. The service felt a bit off at times, and the hotel’s family-friendly claims didn’t quite hold up, especially for those with young children. Overall, I’m not sure if I would choose to stay here again.

Rooms
6.0
The rooms were relatively spacious and provided a good size, but the decor seemed haphazard, and I found myself needing extension leads for charging devices.
Service
5.0
The service was inconsistent; some staff were very helpful, while I encountered rudeness from one of the morning clerks, which was disappointing.
Location
7.0
The hotel was conveniently located close to Peppa Pig World, which was useful, but cleanliness around the area could be improved.
Dining
6.0
The dining experience was decent; the food was good, but the breakfast options were limited and not worth the hype.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities were adequate with available amenities, but they felt basic and could use some upgrades.

I had a very comfortable overnight stay at this hotel, enjoying a spacious room and a wonderful dinner at the restaurant. The location is great for accessing the New Forest and is right next to Paultons Park. However, the cleanliness of the room could use some attention, and the double glazing would help with outside noise. Despite these issues, it was excellent value for money and I would certainly return.

Rooms
7.0
The twin room was spacious and quite comfortable, but I noticed some maintenance issues, like dust in places that needed attention. The bed was very comfy, which made for a good night's sleep.
Service

The staff were warm and welcoming, and went out of their way to assist us when we accidentally locked our key in the room. They really seemed to care about ensuring we had a good stay.
Location
10.0
The hotel is ideally situated near the New Forest and just next door to Paultons Park, making it a convenient choice for family visits.
Dining
8.0
I particularly enjoyed the dinner, as the menu catered to a variety of tastes, and I found the breakfast selection to be great as well, although it could use a bit more variety.
Facilities
7.0
Overall, the facilities were decent, but some areas needed maintenance. The bar was a nice spot to relax after a long day.

6.0/10

My stay at the hotel was quite mixed. While the room was spacious and the holiday touches were appreciated, the overall cleanliness, especially in the dining area, left much to be desired. Unfortunately, the dining experience during Christmas didn't meet expectations, and the lack of evening services was disappointing. The staff were polite, but there needs to be more clarity around the hotel's services for guests.

Rooms
6.0
The room was spacious and clean, but had a strong smell of paint, which made it uncomfortable. The bedding could have been better, especially for a child.
Service
7.0
Service was polite and welcoming, but the hotel seemed to lack overall organization regarding dining options and evening service.
Location
7.0
The hotel has a decent location, not too far from attractions, but the surrounding noise was quite bothersome.
Dining
5.0
Dining was underwhelming, especially the Christmas lunch, which was a small portion and not enough for the price paid.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities need improvement, particularly in cleanliness and better service options for guests during the holidays.

The hotel stayed at a clean and spacious pub that is conveniently located near Peppa Pig World, making it a great choice for families. The value for money on dining might not be ideal, given the higher prices, but the food quality is decent. While I enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and friendly service, the noise from other guests and thin walls can be a bit of a drawback.

Rooms
8.0
I was pleasantly surprised by the size of my room, which was clean and had a lovely four-poster bed. However, it could be noisy due to the thin walls.
Service
8.0
The service was excellent, with the staff going out of their way to ensure I was comfortable, although there were some delays in getting my drinks.
Location
9.0
The hotel is conveniently located next to Peppa Pig World, making it a hit for families, but be prepared for some traffic noise due to its proximity to a busy road.
Dining
7.0
The dining experience was good, though I found the prices a bit steep. My meal was enjoyable, but I was surprised by how much I spent for just two glasses of wine and a meal.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities were decent, including a nice garden area that was great to relax in after a long day of sightseeing.
